How it works
Set it up once.
Open the Zone app. Choose which apps drain you — Instagram, YouTube, WhatsApp — and build your block list. Takes two minutes.
Tap Zone to enter the Zone.
Place your phone against the device. Your selected apps disappear instantly. A timer starts. You're in.
Now do the thing you actually wanted to do. Read. Sleep. Work. Be here. Zone holds the lock so you don't have to.
Come back with intention.
When you're ready, walk back to Zone and tap again. Apps unlock. You chose this — it wasn't an accident.
"Your phone has a skip button. Zone doesn't."
Every screen time limit, every app timer, every digital wellbeing setting — they all have one thing in common. A button that says "ignore limit." And you've pressed it.
Zone is different because it's physical. It sits in the other room. It's not in your pocket. The decision to unlock your apps requires a walk, not a tap. That walk is where the habit breaks.
Tips
- Put Zone somewhere inconvenient — not next to your bed, not on your desk. Make the walk real.
- Start with one block mode. Sleep mode is the easiest win: block everything after 10pm.
- Pair Zone with the Rocket Journal. When Zone locks your phone, open the journal instead.
- Tell someone you're using Zone. Accountability makes the habit stick faster.
- Don't aim for perfection. Even one hour a day in Zone changes your relationship with your phone.
